Dave Rahn is the Smile Radio founder. “My father is a dentist as was my grandfather before him. I grew up around dentistry and today many of my good friends are dentists. Somehow, I ended up in the radio and music business rather than following in my father’s footsteps (as a teenager, I was more interested in wiring my dad’s new dentist’s office for sound than I was in learning the telltale signs of gingivitis – go figure).”

“I was talking with some of my friends about what they use for music in their dental practice. Some listened to FM radio, others used satellite, CDs or iPods. No one was really satisfied with what they heard. Too much repetition; stale playlists; lots of talk and commercials; inappropriate songs. While there are lots of ways to get music for the dental office these days, I found none were really tailored around the needs of today’s modern dental practice.

That’s why I created Smile Radio. It’s music custom-crafted for dental practices and delivered live into your office on a cool Internet media player with all music licensing fees paid. I think you’ll love all the music channels because it’s tailored for my dentist friends and family!”

John Bradley

Smile Radio is part of SBR Creative Media, begun in 1991. Rahn and business partner John Bradley have over 35 years of experience in music, radio programming, research and marketing. They’ve worked with some of the most interesting radio stations in North America from Chicago to Austin, Boulder to Vancouver, San Francisco to New York City.

In 1999 Rahn and Bradley launched Custom Channels, on-line and on-premise audio entertainment channels for music-conscious businesses.
